My family and I knew George since the year he moved into the Whaletown Store. I (we) spend summers on Cortes and in Whaletown since I was a year old.  I am now in my mid-40s and have seen a lot of the beauty life has to offer from our little dock and community. My family and I spent many days getting an ice cream cone from the store, taking George on fishing trips, and dropping off a salmon or two for him to enjoy.  


He was a big part of Whaletown life and we were lucky enough to catch up with, and say our goodbyes to, George as he was preparing to move back to England a few summers ago.  He will be greatly missed.  Thank you for sharing the link to his service. I was able to watch a little bit before work started. It was a lovely eulogy.
